A computer classroom solution constructed in the network environment allows teacher to apply various multimedia resources and transfer them clearly and instantly on the network to fulfill variety of remote interactive teaching activities. In addition, the system protection of each computer on the network can be centralized to Console program for maintenance and management. “SysCombos Teaching and Maintenance System” is designed and developed to combine “multimedia teaching”, “system protection” and “remote centralized management” technologies based on the two main demands - multimedia teaching and computer system protection – of the computer classroom. Except for meeting the needs of multimedia network teaching, it helps administrator to easily do the computer maintenance and management of the entire classroom.
Variety of teaching activities commands can be executed through the system functions of SysCombos and the network transmission. SysCombos can be used to transfer and display various multimedia teaching contents. Moreover, teacher can understand students’ learning status and assist them from teacher PC.
With the functions in SysCombos, teacher can send the operation on teacher PC, teaching DVDs and files, annotation of electronic whiteboard, teacher’s lecture voice, scene photography, etc. to students synchronously. Students can clearly receive the teaching contents from their own seats.
From teacher PC, teacher can remotely supervise and guide the students through remote functions of SysCombos system, instantly grasp the situation when students are practicing, and provide assistance and guidance at any time.
Applying various teaching tools of SysCombos (e.g. send notice, remote command, electronic roll call, send/collect assignments, access control, internet restrictions, video recording, online exam, remote lock, etc.), teacher can execute various teaching activities to student PCs from teacher PC.
With “System Recovery”, “Image Backup / Restore” and “Network Copy (NetCopy)”, the problemed computers can be recovered immediately or can be used to establish a whole new PC classroom more effectively.
Create a “Recovery point” to protect student PCs. In this case, computers can be recovered back to the status of the recovery point after each reboot and make sure the students can have a safe and clean operating environment every class.
The function can back up the entire disk or a specific partition into an “image file”. The file can be used when you need to restore the disk data. (The protection setting of “system recovery” and recovery points can also be backed up / restored at the same time.)
Completely copy the disk content of Sender PC to the other specified / all of the Receiver PCs, and rapidly complete the installation and settings of the system and software. In addition, the system contains “Differential NetCopy” function, which can copy only the changes of the data from Sender PC, shorten the time-consuming of NetCopy.
Administrator from teacher PC can run remote maintenance functions of SysCombos (e.g. system recovery, create/delete recovery point, differential NetCopy, etc.) to student PCs and complete a variety of maintenance jobs.
For separated and numerous student PCs, administrators from teacher PC can easily do a variety of maintenance jobs through network connection.
When executing asset inventory function, it will instantly create a statistical report. If the inventory result is different from last time, the system will display an alert message and list out the differences.
With the Power-Saving function, administrator can set up the power-saving strategy for student PCs in order to save the wasted energy and electricity. Besides, the teacher PC will collect the usage information of each student PC and create a detailed energy usage statistical report for administrator’s reference.
Administrator from teacher PC can control and execute various management function provided by SysCombos to numerous and separated student PCs via network transmission.
Furthermore, administrator can divide numerous student PCs into different groups according to their properties or the purpose of the classroom, and then execute different maintenance and management command to each group.
